It all began . . . The Quilt Shop opened in April 1996, in a 1000 square foot store front on Main St., in Cambridge, Wisconsin. Due to shipping delays, there were less than 100 bolts of fabric in the store, but the doors were opened as planned. Customers were excited to have the shop in the area, supportive and patient.
In March of 1999, the shop was relocated to111 Hwy 18, Cambridge. The new spot gave us a great parking lot, room to grow and a bigger classroom. Seven years flew by - samples were everywhere, yarn had been added, and it was time once again to move.
In February 2006, the shop relocated back to Main St., in Cambridge, right in the center of town. The shop was bright and airy, in a historic building originally built for a hardware store. What a delightful space to have the shop located in! It is hard for me to believe that another year has flown by. Since closing the shop last April, I have kept busy with one thing and another. I took a much needed break from quilting and creating. I did a lot of bike riding, reading, walking, cooking, and spending time with my family. I took a web design class from October to December, which has led to this new web site. I became a grandmother again in February, and now I have two cute little boys to love. Being a grandma is the greatest! Now, that the web site is finally complete, I am looking forward to getting some classes organized and working on new pattern designs. I haven't planned much vending for this year, yet, but hope to add a few more shows for this fall. I hope all is well with everyone! |
