Shop History
The Quilt Shop opened in April 1996, in a 1000 square foot
store front on Main St. in Cambridge, Wisconsin. Due to shipping delays,
there were less than 100 bolts of fabric in the store, but the doors were opened
as planned. Customers were excited to have the shop in the area,
supportive and patient.
In March of 1999, the shop was relocated to 111 Hwy 18, Cambridge. The new
spot gave us a great parking lot, room to grow and a bigger classroom.
Seven years flew by - samples were everywhere, yarn had been added and it was
time once again to expand.
In February 2006, the shop relocated once again to Main
St. in Cambridge, right in the center of town. The shop was bright and airy,
in a historic building originally built for a hardware store. What a
delightful space to have the shop located in!
After spending twelve years focusing on the shop, I made the
decision to give up the brick and mortar portion of the business, and become an
on-line and quilt show based business. April 27, 2008 was the last day the
store was open in Cambridge. While I will miss the day to day contact with
all of you, I am looking forward to having more time for family and friends, for
designing, and just plain "life" in general. Stay tuned to find
out what happens next.
